My Story

My health started to decline in my early twenties. I began getting terrible headaches, many lasting for days or weeks. My muscles become tight and sore which lead to fibromyalgia. I often woke up feeling like I ran a marathon the day before. I was stressed, tired and in a lot of pain. I also developed TMJ, IBS and a host of other health challenges. I did what most people do and went to the doctor. I was given medicine to deal with the symptoms, but no good information on how to regain my health. After many years and many unsuccessful medications, I realized that I was on the wrong path.

Getting massages seemed to help, so I switched my focus to a natural, holistic approach. I started reading, talking with people and trying holistic therapies. My health was improving, but it wasn’t until I took charge of my health that things really changed. I integrated all that I had learned along the way and found out what worked best for me. Symptoms disappeared, illnesses no longer existed and it was all in the past. I made it my mission to heal and once that was achieved, I knew my purpose was to help others heal.

Thanks to my previous health challenges, I’ve studied nutrition, mind-body connection, and wellness extensively for many years. I became certified in Reiki – Second Degree, completed Healing Touch Levels 1 – 4 and have studied a variety of other healing techniques. I then decided to expand on my knowledge by studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach. This also allowed me to become a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I will always continue learning about nutrition, energy, health, wellness, stress and the mind-body connection. I’m also a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Spirit of Women and the Indianapolis chapter of Weston A. Price Foundation. I’m very passionate about natural healing and living holistically. I look forward to helping you on your healing journey.

I’m a big believer in not just talking the talk, but walking the walk. I exercise, eat healthy, meditate and do things that will help me achieve greater health. I enjoy walking out in nature, a good CrossFit workout and fresh, local produce. I eat healthy the majority of the time, but you’ll also hear me talk about eating “not so healthy” treats because deprivation doesn’t work and balance is the key. Like many women, my weight has gone up and down over the years. I’ve tried all kinds of diets, detoxes and supplements with no lasting results. I usually went the route of the hare (fast) when losing weight, but this time I chose to take the route of the turtle (slow and steady). Slow and steady continues to pay off as I continue losing inches, extra body fat and all of the toxins that were stored in my fat. Best of all is how I feel. I have more energy, confidence and zest for life. I now know the “secret” to weight loss is to connect with your inner wisdom and do what works best for your body as an individual. I’m also real and upfront with the things I do and the things I need to do. I have goals set for this next year to continue taking my health to the next level. I’d love to help you achieve your health goals while I continue to achieve mine and share all of the tips I’ve learned along the way.
